Infusion Art Sale will have original postcard art for purchase benefiting Infusion Art which is a community driven non-profit organization that works in conjunction with Greene Giving/Greene County Community Foundation, a 501(c)3. Our committee works with local organizations to create art education programs for the youth, young adults and citizens without access to the arts.
There is NO ENTRY FEE, and artists of all career levels are encouraged to participate, making it possible for emerging talent to appear alongside seasoned professionals.
PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
Pay special attention to the materials, size and medium requirements described below. Artwork that does not meet these requirements will be rejected.
1) Fill out the online registration form here then mail or drop off your artwork at Decoy Art Studio when completed according to the instructions below.
2) Create an original piece of art (this includes original photography). 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 inches (see detailed size, medium & material requirements below).
3) Include complete information* on the back of your piece or on a card:
- a) real name
- b) e-mail
- c) website (optional)
- d) artwork title
This will be helpful to buyers and organizers alike, and will be used to print labels placed next to each piece under the tent. *Please note, the above-mentioned information will be shared on social media and on sale labels. This is how we identify artists and their work and is an integral part of the process. If you do not want this information shared, please do not participate.
4) Mail your artwork to the address below OR drop it off at Decoy Art Studio during operating hours.
Mail art to:
Decoy Art Studio
1561 Grange Hall Rd.
Beavercreek, Ohio 45432
As long as it is a 2D piece, you can use canvas or canvas board, wood, paper, fabric, etc. If you use paper, thick, good quality paper is preferred, but thin cardboard will also do. Sketch or print paper is much too flimsy and will not be accepted. Keep in mind, the postal service isn’t generally recognized for “gentle handling”; we want your artwork to be in the best shape possible, so make sure to ship it in an envelope and pack it well for the journey.
Artwork must be signed, originals in any of the following 2D mediums: Watercolor, acrylic, oil, ink, gouache, mixed media, collage, pencil, charcoal, photography, digital art, pastel, etc. Please use spray fixative for gritty mediums, and remember to properly prime/gesso your surfaces if you work with oils, allowing them to fully dry before shipping. Linocuts, woodcuts, lithographs (printmaking) are accepted IF they are the correct size and hand-signed. And please, nothing perishable, toxic or otherwise harmful.
Your artwork should be 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 inches.
NO JURY, NO THEME:
Any professional or amateur artist in reach of our voice is invited! Although there is no jury and no theme, please send your best work. This is a public event that will draw media and public attention, so please paint/draw something that represents your style. As children may be present, we ask for no sexual or drug related art.
NUMBER OF SUBMISSIONS PER ARTIST:
You may submit more than one piece (up to five pieces).
DEADLINE & FEES
Artwork must be time stamped by Sunday, September 4th, 2016 to be included in the exhibition. Late entries will not be accepted. If there is a problem or concern, please contact Infusion Art at firstname.lastname@example.org
NO PARTICIPATION FEES:
As this is an exhibition for charity, there is no fee to enter. Every participant, from artist to organizer, is involved on a voluntary, unpaid basis. The goal is to share our collective talents for a good cause. 100% of proceeds go to charity.
The sale price will be $20 per 5 x 7 piece and $30 per 8 x 10 piece. Many, if not all of these cards are worth a lot more, but this will allow the general public to purchase them easily.
Please ship your work, well protected in an envelope, via regular first class mail as this worked best in past exhibitions. If you choose to send your work by courier or other fast methods, DO NOT ASK FOR SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION. For instance if staff isn’t immediately on-hand to sign for packages and they are returned to the courier company or post office, we are not able to run back and forth to these locations to sign for and pick up packages.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
WHEN ORGANIZERS RECEIVE YOUR POSTCARD, THEY WILL:
1) Capture the image and post a Facebook shout-out using the hashtag #ArtFestMV.
2) Enter your info in a database that will be used for printing labels, which will be placed next to the card at the exhibit.
AFTER THE EXHIBITION:
All work received will be considered a donation and will not be returned to the sender, even if it remains unsold. Any unsold art will be donated to the charity to use as they see fit (i.e. create a mural with remaining pieces to commemorate the event, or sell remaining work at future fundraisers). It’s up to them.
VIDEO / BOOK:
It’s possible that a video and/or book may be produced. This will remain at the discretion of the local organizer, time and resources allowing.
FUNDING LEGITIMATE CHARITIES:
100% of funds raised at ArtFest go to Infusion Art Endowment. Benefiting organizations are vetted by Infusion Art’s local organizers, as well as by our organizing board. One of our biggest concerns is doing our due diligence and taking every precaution to make sure our initiative does not exploit anybody, and that schemers do not make off with our concerted efforts.
By participating in the Infusion Art Sale, you agree to our terms. This means any art submitted to this exhibition can be sold to raise money for our chosen charities, with 100% of proceeds from art sales going directly to the charity. In addition, your art could be featured in a video about the event, or included in a book, which may be sold to help raise funds to help cover the organization’s operating costs. If you do not agree to these terms, kindly refrain from participating.
We thank you for participating in the Infusion Art Sale!
